About Michael M. Christian
Dr. Michael M. Christian is an author, speaker, professor, and psychotherapist. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice with offices in Brentwood, Murfreesboro, and Lebanon, Tennessee. Michael is a National Certified Counselor, has advanced training in marital therapy, is a Certified Sex Therapist, and a Certified Sexual Addiction Specialist. As an addiction therapist, Michael treats individuals who present with a variety of addictive and compulsive behaviors such as alcohol, drugs, food, etc.
Michael treats men, women, and couples. He also facilitates several groups each week that address a variety of therapeutic issues. Some of the more common presenting issues that Michael treats includes but is not limited to: marital issues, sexual dysfunction in men and women, sexual addiction, other addictive compulsive behaviors, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, anger, trauma, and abuse, etc.
Michael has earned a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University; a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University; a Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Michael is the Chairman of the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Trevecca Nazarene University where he teaches graduate psychology. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Nashville Association of Christian Counselors, American Association of Certified Christian Sexual Addiction Specialists, and the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists.
Michael and his wife, Phyllis have been married since 1978. They have one daughter, Rachel who is a grad-student at a local university studying psychology and mental health.
